Multi Media is a full-service provider of live streaming video platforms and online community forums, allowing broadcasters to engage audiences with high-quality content and advanced streaming capabilities.
THE PROBLEM
Expanding internationally is exciting, but without the right employment setup, it can quickly become a compliance nightmare – something MultiMedia learned first-hand when scaling into Albania.
As demand for their web-streaming services grew, the company expanded beyond the U.S. to Canada and Albania. To streamline operations and save resources, they chose to outsource global HR instead of establishing their own legal entities.
However, their initial approach, relying on a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) service to onboard employees in Albania, soon revealed unexpected challenges in navigating international employment laws. Primarily, they lacked visibility and compliance oversight from their chosen BPO partner which posed great risk to MultiMedia. They urgently required an alternative solution to keep their Albanian talent legally employed.
THE SOLUTION
MultiMedia started looking for an Employer of Record (EOR) solution to meet their needs.

THE RESULTS
MultiMedia were at risk of losing their Albanian talent if they couldn’t move the team to legal employment via an EOR quickly enough. Playroll jumped in to assist MultiMedia with the migration, completing the process of migrating over 40 workers in less than a month.
Before switching to Playroll, MultiMedia had little visibility into their employees’ contracts, legal status, or work setup. After migrating to Playroll, they’ve gained full oversight over their workforce, receiving hands-on support from experts in compliance to set up legally vetted contracts for their team. Looking ahead, the MultiMedia team is relying on Playroll for all their global hiring needs. Besides hiring more employees in Albania, Playroll also helped MultiMedia convert contractors in Canada to full-time employees with ease.
We were able to mitigate job loss for people, and bring more people on and continue to expand. We have people reaching out on a consistent basis asking if they can work for us, now that we can offer them compliant Playroll contracts. We’re not restricted on who we can hire based on location.
